9D Stylus DK1:

DK1 is targeted at advanced use cases. Featuring larger motors and a metal construction, DK1 can generate significantly larger, higher quality, forces than LibreOne and works across a larger volume.

We maintain an open source plugin and demo program for UnityEngine. This plugin handles device comms, and integrates the robot with Unity's built-in physics engine.

Designed to be a minimal codebase to support integration into existing projects, the C++ plugin handles communications with one or more LibreOne's.

FFUI:
A project by researchers from the Bristol Interaction Group at the University of Bristol - FFUI aims to re-imagine desktop PC interfaces, to sidestep traditional reliance on screens and vision, and enable blind users to navigate a windows desktop environment using the sense of touch!
OFBI - Blender Interface
A project from our own team, OFBI links a 9D stylus with the popular open source modelling tool, Blender. Like a graphics tablet combined with a spacemouse and turned upto 11, this lets the user access blender controls through a direct 9D interface!

Frequently asked questions

Does it require VR?

9D Stylus' excel when used in combination with 3D visuals, but also work great on your normal 2D screen!

Does it require external tracking?

No, 9D stylus devices do all their own tracking and don't require any extra hardware. Just connect to a PC or laptop and you're good to go!

Do they need to be maintained?

The 9D stylus' are designed to be as low maintenance as possible - Direct drive motors and a parallel linkage minimise moving parts / cables, and magnetic encoders ensure they will not be affected by dust or dirt.

Are they safe?

LibreOne is designed to share your space safely - features such as plastic construction, smaller motors and linkages designed to minimise pinch points, are all there to maximise safety.

Is it open source?

We believe the philosophy of sharing, collaboration, and experimentation is the best approach to bring this incredible technology into more people's hands. We want to create technology that supports your ideas - never restrict them.

The design of LibreOne will be open source - you can modify, 3D print and build your own! In addition, all of our haptics software projects & device drivers are open source for use in your projects!

What is early access beta?

We are a small team working on delivering a big technology. Whereas many similar companies rely on crowd-funding with just a promise to deliver some day, we prefer to more actively engage with, and to develop alongside, those who are interested in working with force feedback!

Early access beta is for anyone who wants to be among the first to experiment with this new space. The devices are as shown, fully functional, upgradable, immediately built to order, and shipped within 1 week.

Early access beta is not for anyone who just wants the end product. While they are already fully functional, the design is liable to improvements, updates and changes.
